Skyler Lincoln is a tenacious outer space obsessed 9-year-old, who wants to be like her old man, an 'Alien Hunter'. He looks for aliens crossing the border, she looks to the skies.

After growing impatient with not being big enough to go on a hunt, Skyler sneaks into the back of her dad's truck only to be left behind in the harsh barren desert. On her adventure, Skyler meets Memo, a boy her same age from the other side of the border. He has also been trekking the desert alone after being separated from his father on a journey north. Although they don't speak the same language, the two children are able to communicate through their imaginations. Together they embark into the unknown where they both will learn what it truly means to be human.
